2ND GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR LADIES OF VIRTURE (LoV)
The second edition of the ceremony of the Ladies of virtue held on Wednesday 29th March 2023 at Harvest Field Hall, House on the Rock, 35, Awolowo Avenue, Old Bodija, Ibadan between the hours of 11am and 2 pm.
The programme featured prayer sessions, preaching of the word, reciting of Bible verses by the graduands, keynote address/speech as well as goodwill messages. The keynote address was delivered by The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Inclusion, Mrs. Grace Oderinde who represented Her Excellency the First Lady of Oyo State, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde who had promised to be in attendance but was unavoidably absent as the event coincided with the presentation of Certificate of Return to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde for His victory at the recently held gubernatorial election in Oyo State.
Dignitaries such as heads of networks of NGOs Association of Women Orientations for Sustainable Development in Nigeria (AWON), Community Chest Council (CCC), Association Against Child Sexual Abuse & Gender Based Violence (AACSAGBV) and a number of our partners and donors were in attendance.
Eleven (11) Ladies graduated this year, having learnt various skills of their choices. The skills offered were fashion design, cake & pastries making, catering, soap & disinfectant production and make-up. About one hundred persons were in attendance, including seven volunteers from both organisations and guests of the graduands. It was quite an eventful day with the highpoints of the ceremony being the prayer session and the presentation of Bibles, certificates and startup tools to the ladies who were over-joyed.
